furniture design
An early interest that got me interested in design and making things was cabinetry and furniture. I’ve designed and made several pieces throughout the years, some for myself and some for others, below are a few things I’ve completed or am in the progress of completing.
floating coffee table
-concept was to create a table that appeared as if it was floating by keeping it low to the floor and support legs inset as to concealed from view when near table
-another design goal was to create something that was aesthetically pleasing on its own but could still support drinks without fear of damaging a wood finish and allow magazines and some small items to be located on wood shelf below glass

-matching end table to go along with coffee table above without following exactly the floating concept but also allowing a taller top surface

-design concept was to create a minimal support frame for a simple seat/back chair. shape might lend itself to a metal form but the warmth and comfort of wood was desired thus the bent laminate
-thin veneer strips of oak bent to support shape
-intent for leather tufted cushion seat and back
